Palm Beach Moravian Church Strives to Meet Community Needs

Many people associate Palm Beach, Florida, with glitzy waterfront homes, but according to the 2025 ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Report, 46% of Palm Beach County households are having a hard time making ends meet. In addition, the county’s Homeless and Housing Alliance reported counting more than 1,500 people who were unhoused during their 24-hour period count at the end of January.

Palm Beach Moravian Church is aware of their community’s needs and strives to minister to their neighbors in a variety of ways. In 2024 they received a $18,200 grant from MMFA’s Hunger and Thirst Fund to allow them to provide homecooked meals in addition to increasing the amount of food available for them to distribute in the areas around the church.

Brother Winston Peart shared that the church’s work has made a tremendous impact on both those they serve as well as on those from the congregation who volunteer for the ministry. Palm Beach members are playing an important role in connecting people who come for a meal with social services in the county, with the goal of supporting efforts to find transitional or permanent homes for those who are without one.

MMFA is happy to support the church’s ministry and grateful to everyone who has given to the Hunger and Thirst Fund to make this grant possible.
