Supporting Those Who Serve: Funds Available for Moravian Clergy and Their Families

MMFA is delighted to manage several funds that benefit our Moravian clergy and their spouses in both the Northern and Southern Provinces. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; for more information, please contact Laura Watson, Vice President/Director of Programs.

Minister’s Emergency Fund: 
  • Fund purpose: to assist Moravian clergy and/or their spouses in times of crisis or emergency, or to support projects to alleviate such financial hardships on others.  

 

Minister’s Mission Fund: 
  • Fund purpose: to support mission trips for ordained Moravian clergy and/or their spouses 
  • Maximum award amount: $1,500
Salemtowne Entry Fund: 
  • Fund purpose: to help ordained Moravian clergy and/or their spouses along with retired, fulltime employees of Moravian agencies to meet entrance fee requirements for Moravian continuing care or life care communities.  
  • Maximum award amount: $50,000, based on level of need
Bishop W. Herbert Spaugh Ministerial and Children’s Education Fund: 
  • Fund purpose: to provide scholarship aid to children of pastors to pursue post-secondary education.  
  • The Fund will begin accepting applications for the 2027-2028 school year in early 2027.  

In addition to these funds, MMFA also manages several funds that benefit Moravian clergy in both the Northern and Southern Provinces. Sustaining Our Shepherds Fund: 
  • Fund purpose: to support Moravian pastors in prioritizing their well-being. The Fund provides resources for clergy to stay spiritually, emotionally, and physically grounded. 
  • Supports: sabbaticals, retreats, and advanced studies 
  • Award amount: $1,250 

 

Bishop W. Herbert Spaugh Ministerial and Children’s Education Fund: 
  • Fund purpose: to support ordained clergy to attend classes, seminars, and other educational programs.
