Throughout the years, On Wings Like a Dove has received a variety of grants from the Moravian Ministries Foundation to support their different ministries. These grants are making a real difference, reaching individuals in prison, helping returning citizens rebuild their lives, and supporting families facing challenges of separation. Driven by prayer and dedicated volunteers, On Wings Like a Dove shows that even the simplest gestures of kindness can create powerful transformations.
A Fresh Start for Returning Citizens
The On Wings of Hope Transitional Living Initiative offers supervised housing for individuals who are reintegrating into society after incarceration. It provides structure and stability as they learn to function independently again. This initiative also addresses a frequently overlooked challenge: the untreated medical needs that can hinder successful reintegration into society.

A Housing and Shelter grant from MMFA has helped to meet these essential needs. One resident, who recently began working for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, faced a critical challenge when he suffered a knee injury. Without insurance and unable to work during his recovery, he was worried about losing his income and the stability he had worked so hard to achieve. Through funds from this grant, his medical and rehabilitation expenses were covered. This support allowed him to remain focused on achieving long-term stability.
Sending Light Into Dark Places
Another ministry of On Wings Like a Dove began with a single handwritten letter in 2014: “Could you possibly send me a Bible?” That request grew into a nationwide effort that continues to expand every year.
The organization responds personally to inmate requests by mailing high-quality Study Bibles. In 2023, with support from MMFA’s Prison Ministry Fund, they distributed 1,384 Study Bibles to inmates in 22 states. But the impact goes beyond numbers. Thank you notes and follow-up letters reveal lives being changed through Scripture.
Through the years, ministry continued to grow. With another MMFA grant in 2024, On Wings Like a Dove mailed 1,421 Bibles in response to personal requests. Families have also been uplifted as they witness spiritual growth in their loved ones.
A Ministry of Steadfast Love
Across both transitional housing and prison outreach, a common theme emerges. On Wings Like a Dove meets people at the intersection of need and hope. Medical care, stable housing mentorship, and prayer create lifelines for individuals who often feel forgotten.
Through your generosity and the commitment of ministries like On Wings Like a Dove, men and women across the country are discovering that they are not alone. They are seen. They are prayed for. They are loved.
If you support the Housing and Shelter or Prison Ministry Field of Interest Funds, this is the impact you help make possible.
