Elmer Wachtel (1864-1929)

Elmer Wachtel was born in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1892, he moved to San Gabriel, California. In 1900, Wachtel went to New York City where he studied at the Art Students League. After marrying artist Marion Kavanaugh in 1904, they moved to Pasadena. They painted together until his sudden death on a painting trip to Guadalajara, Mexico.
